Disgruntled Telangana = Affluent Politicians

For the first time, I am writing a blog on a much hyped sensitive issue. As you keep on reading, you will come to know whether I support Separate Telangana or united Andhra Pradesh. For now, bear the suspense.
History: In the recent years, Hyderabad is popularly known as Hi-Tech city. But in the recent weeks, WE (=people of this nation) made it as High-tension city. Telangana means ‘Land of Telugus’. This land has got a history since Treta Yuga (it is believed that lord Rama, Sita and Lakshmana spent their life in exile at Bhadrachalam). This region came under Muslim rule in 18th century and called as Hyderabad state. After India got independence, the Nizam of Hyderabad still wanted to retain his independence. But government of India amalgamated his state by force.
The Fazal Ali commission or States Reorganisation Commission (SRC) in 1953 formed states based on linguistic lines. Telangana and Andhra were clubbed (forcefully but with gentlemen's agreement) to form AndhraPradesh state on November 1st, 1956 after Potti SriRamulus fast unto death. The second agitation, especially from students, for separate Telangana state started in 1969 (during which approximately 360 people died) and ended in political benefits to politicians. Later, agitations started many times but were minor in severity because they originated from political drama.

Rationale: There are certain things WE should understand. The formation of mandals, districts, states etc are for better governing. The ultimate benefit should go to India, not to telangana alone or united AndhraPradesh alone. If Telangana gets developed by forming a separate state, WE should accept it. If united AndhraPradesh assures development better than Telangana alone, WE should accept it. Our internal competition should help India emerge as a super power, not create quarrels among us. Remember the forecast of global leaders that India or China would emerge as super power in this century.
I wondered when I saw huge number of students participated in the recent Telangana agitation. I question all the students (with age>18): how many of you casted your vote during general elections (~52% says election commission`) or greater Hyderabad elections (~42% says election commission)? Surveys constantly remind that polling percentage is low because of the less participation of educated people. When you do not vote, you do not have the right to question the society. If the same students put the same energy in teaching a lesson to the polluted politicians (irrespective of region, religion, race), think of the change that could be brought in.

Here comes an interesting observation: Before 2009 general elections, I used to hate politics & never showed any interest to understand politics. I agree that most of our politicians are corrupted but I disagree that our system itself is corrupted. It is WE who are allowing the corrupted people and rowdies to enter into the political system. During April 2009 general elections in state and center, I watched news channels and read news papers a lot to understand politics. I am worried about my understanding but I cannot deny the fact because it is reality. Political parties, by and large, tried to put people into different buckets for their survival. For example, BJP came with religion disparity bucket; TRS came with regional disparity bucket; some new and existing parties came with community disparity bucket or some other bucket. These parties, with vote banking premise, succeeded in putting 60-70% of actual voters (which is around 50% of total voters) in their respective buckets. Election campaign, manifesto, using stardom for publicity etc are to attract only 30% of the remaining actual voters. Unfortunately, most of the print & electronic media are one-sided to political parties. Politicians, joining hands with media, are making people as mere scapegoats. Discussions to find solutions can be thought of a dream as long as politicians are willing to speak their own version and not willing to listen to other politicians version.

Wake up time buddy: All this crap is required for the political parties for their survival, not to foster the development of the nation. They constantly pump these disparities into public. The impact of dirty politics is on the nation and is very severe. Did you people ever observe what these shameless politicians are trying to break?? It is NATIONAL INTEGRITY. It is the feeling of being INDIAN which is beyond the region, religion, caste, language & other feelings. Sachin Tendulkar said, "I am a Marathi but first I am an INDIAN". Youth of this nation should walk with unity to lead India. There is a need to not only change the players but also the rules of this political game. Martin Luther King said, "The silence of good men is more dangerous than the brutality of bad men". At the least, WE should try to cease the perpetuation of current politics into our next generations.

I appreciate you on blogging on this sensitive topic,If theseparate telanaga is for jobs , water, self rule.. we may achieve this by united A.P. I think govt should give a concrete decision this, without dragging the time... since it is a blocker for our development.. any solution is accepted.. Please dont watch any telugu news channel.. they are killing our brain...

I am really happy to see these type of blogs. My opinion is not to break telangana and andhra seperately. If poor people gets benefit from this seperate telangana then we can proceed. It doesnt mean that undeveloped areas will be developed because of seperate telangana we can make without doing that also.It depends upon evey individual.I request people "especially Youth" not to become bakras in politicians hands. If youth really want to strive for good things and all then they can enter into politics by removing all old people in politics. Please dont sacrifice our lives for getting seperate telangana.

Naveen, What you have written is right. Dividing or Uniting a state should finally lead to the success of the entire country and should not be a dividing factor between the people and leading the respective state into gutter just for personal benifits.

Atleast now, educated people should participate in developing the nation keeping religion and caste aside. This might also indirectly help keeping the Rowdy's at bay.

India needs Economic leaders in future, not these nasty political leaders.
Things are changing in that direction.... let us hope for the best.
If the state is virtually viewed as 4 regions: Andhra(A),Rayalaseema(R), Telangana(T)and Hyderabad. All the first three regions(ART) of AP state are not faring well when it comes to creating/production of funds, there are huge Deficits for all the three. However, Hyderabad itself alone contributes funds equal to almost the sum of all the three ART regions. That is the reason why HYDERABAD is the richest of all the regions and all the political leaders are ready to die(Pseudo deaths) for this GOLDEN DUCK.
Good post Navin... keep rocking.

Hey Naveen,
I liked your post. But I would appreciate if you could also explain the reasons why people want telengana. There is a genuine reason for that. The first reason being the water problem. All the water is diverted to andhra side which makes that land very fertile and making the farmers rich. But here farmers are committing suicide because of lack of water. Everyone knows this. Except for lands in hyderabad, the value of land(cultivation) is not same as the land in andhra. My Dad has about 32 acres of land. He spends tons of money to get water to that land. He tries to put bores(borewells) atleast 4 times every year but for no result. There is no water. He buys water to cultivate land. How good is that? Do andhra people buy water to cultivate? If he had the same land in andhra we would have been 10times richer or even more. People are asking for seperate telanaga so that we will have water for our state too. Second problem is andhra domination in telangana be it politics, movies etc. I can't tell much about this as this is a little sensitive issue and I know little on this. Watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CilXK-UWu0 you will understand more. Leaders are taking advantage of the problems of telangana people. Poor people believed that KCR would do them good. But he is not trustworthy. I don't support seperate telangana but there is definitely a problem which needs to be addressed ASAP.

Thanks Ravi, Amrutha, Sujith for your comments.

Haritha, You brought up a very interesting point here. Across the globe, history reminds us that ALL MAJOR WARS OCCURED BECAUSE OF LAND AND WATER. Telangana war is no exception. It started with good motive but I am worried about the direction it is going now. Even my father had had land in Nalgonda and suffered the same problem like your's. The important point is people of Telangana might be suffering but not the politicians of Telangana. They represent people and their duty is to do justice to their people. Why the hell we have state legislative assembly? Why politicians are silent when the Gentlemen's agreement is violate? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gentlemen%27s_agreement_of_Andhra_Pradesh(1956) ). Simple reason, they waited till people shouted. Instead of fighting and spending money to get a separate state, they could have fight for their share of resources. No one can take it unless we allow it.

My QUESTION?

1) ARE Telanagana MP's and MLA'S not in the Govt, What are they doing when telanagana got cheated?

If Answer is Our Politicians are bad, Then what will we achieve after separation... Are we Creating a BULK SWISS ACCOUNTS for our politicians??????
